A Reminder About Politics

A reminder that this ban on political threads also includes any posts/ comments in other threads that were not political to begin with.

I know it's hard right now, but there are better places to discuss your political views, how you voted etc. Go to Brad's Place, I should hope it will be rather busy tonight (not that it's not pretty busy anyway).

I said I would continue to bump this topic every time we had to remove a political thread/post from the board. I have continued to do so and am doing so now.

Just in case I haven't made myself clear. NO POLITICAL THREADS OR POSTS ARE ALLOWED ON THIS SITE. This includes anything referencing politicians or politics. Even if you don't mean it to be political, someone else will.

I should not have had to post to this thread twice in one day, and I really don't want to have to do it again.

I belong to another message board (not swinging related) and it pretty much has the same lay out as this one.

Anyway, The Admin of that board can take threads that he deems important and have them stay at the top of the list in each forum regardless if anyone has posted to them recently ot not. That way it is the first thread topic you see when you open each forum.

We have several threads like that (that are stuck to the top of each forum) but it doesn't really do much for reminding people to read them, especially when more people read posts based on "new posts" than going from forum to forum.

This particular issue is addressed in the Rules (aka Expected Behaviour on the Swingers Board) which is STUCK to the top of this forum, and linked to from a post which is STUCK at the top of every forum on the board.

Another bump to remind you - please keep your political comments to yourself or discuss them privately .... or best yet.. take them over to Brad's Place - he has been nice enough to provide a board specifically for that purpose.

On the upside, it's been 2 months since I've had to bump this thread because of someone failing to refrain.

I realize how difficult it is to discuss the recent events in the South without discussing the political side of it, but please remember that the discussion of politics is not allowed on this board. Any posts relating to politics will be removed, so please save us the trouble.

No Politics Allowed!

I stick to a pretty strong no-censorship policy on this site except for this one area. Political posts/threads will always be removed even if they seem on topic, or seem like a political topic that we would all agree on. If we allow one political thing we have to allow them all and it's easier to draw the line at none at all.

If you want to discuss political issues please feel free to do so at Brad's Place, which is a political forum created by Brad of BradandJanet - so you know it's swinger friendly.

I've seen a few "slips" in the realm of political comments lately. Please keep in mind that the one and ONLY topic that is off-limits on this site is Politics. We instituted this policy for a reason as we've seen the damaging affects of allowing those discussions on this site.

This is just a reminder. Political Comments will be deleted and infractions given. I know for some of you it's hard to "keep it in your pants" when it comes to politics, but please make an effort.

I am new to your excellent board, and not looking to rock the boat, but what if you allowed but segregated political postings? If people ventured into the political forum, they would do so at their own risk, much as those who venture into a sexual forum, having been given advance notice of adult content. And why should politics even be considered on a swingers board? Politics does make strange bedfellows!

This board did have a segregated political forum years ago. Julie's right to ban such discussions. The posts, of which I was a big part, were a bad thing that created a lot of animosity.

I was very much opposed to banning politics, arguing that an important part of making friends is understanding their political philosophies. I was dead wrong. This board is one of the friendliest ones on the net. That could not have been said when political discussions were allowed.

One of the first posts I read on this board was in the politics forum. It was "(screenname), you are an asshole!" That doesn't happen anymore.

Brad, of Brad and Janet on this board, came to the rescue by establishing "Brad's Place." Many of us go over there to talk politics. An interesting aspect of it is that Brad's Place has remained friendly. Come on over!
