Things that make you go hmmmmmmm at 4:30am

Here is what happened this morning. I wake up to a car alarm going off. At least thats the first recollection I have. My neighbor across the road lives on a hill with his driveway going farther up the hill. He is in a band and is out late many nights playing with the band. So seeing him come in late or early is not out of the ordinary. This morning though, I have a look off the porch in my pajamas, as to why the alarm going off. Low and behold, he didn't set the parking brake and his van, it was smashed into my other neighbors parked car in their driveway. OUCH !!! My neighbor lady was in her nightgown and really pissed. He was eating a taco at 4:30 in the morning apologizing over and over.

Now that made me say hummmmmm at 4:30 in the morning.

I've always wondered how they come up with some of the really crazy stuff... like Secrets of a Pregnant Woman's Urine... I mean... how does that happen? A lab worker is processing a pregnant woman's urine and suddenly thinks of it as having an Anti-HIV agent in it?

Yes, I get bored sometimes too..

Euuwww! IF I happen to be awake at 4:30AM, a taco is about the last thing I'll be craving (and I love Mexican). That late/early, gimme ice cream, cookies, pie, or anything else sweet.

Oh, I missed this addition.

He wasn't having a wake up breakfast he was getting home from playing with the band he is in. I assure you he was sober at 4:30 am. He was just hungry and bumming about the damage.

I don't know though, I could eat a taco (either kind) for breakfast anytime

i would say that someone researching HIV infection/transmission came to the realisation that not all babies born to HIV positive mothers are in fact HIV positive at birth. that led them to believe that maybe something is secreted by either the foetus or the mothers body to prevent transmision. easiest place to check for that stuff is blood or urine (pregnant womens urine has all forms of wierd and wonderful hormones and stuff in it). if it was in the foetus there would be a good chance that the kidneys would deal with it before it could build up in concentration before it rose to elevated levels in the mothers blood, so they checked the urine?

just a guess at the process there.

she's 8, the cats 1, so they didn't grow up together... who knows.

the things that make me go hmmm at 4:30 aren't as light hearted. mainly "where am i going to be next year" "will i ever get my thesis finished" and "dammit i have a flight to catch in 2 hours why can't i sleep"
