I feel exquisitely pampered by a lofty down (or polyfill) comforter in basic white or cream.

I like to be able to access a bed from three sides and prefer only a headboard.

King size, firm mattress, easy to wash coverings, and a plastic liner under the mattress pad.

Its murder to try to kneel on or sit on the edge of a water bed. If you don't have to toss the whole set into the washer afterwards, you didn't do it right.

I'll assume you have the color combos in mind for your dream room, so I won't even go there. I'll just list things I think would be cool or to think about.
1) Definitely a firm king size bed ! Lots of pillows are good
2) When choosing a bedframe, maybe have it at the height where your players with the shortest legs won't have to stand on their tiptoes to engage in edge of the bed plunging. It's one of my favorites because of both penetration and viewing the old in/out. Guys with taller legs can simply have their mate move in the bed a tad further. Along the same lines, I would think the height would be similar for edge of the bed oral delights too. I don't favor bedposts at the food of the bed either, as I think they could get in the way.
3) How about having some kind of tasteful mounts on your headboard where you can have a videocam for taping those delightful moments for yours and friends viewing afterward?!
4) TV in a good viewing place, so you can have porn going on in the background, your own included.
5) Do you have patio doors out to your hot tub? Close proximity of a hot tub to your playroom would be awesome!
6) A few pieces of erotic artwork, tasteful but yet getting the message across. I remember many years ago, the flutist Herbie Mann had an erotic sexual image inside one of his album covers

Now you've got me going on thinking about pulling out all stops! If I've got any other thoughts, I'll post again later. What a fun daydream you must be having!

This isn't a bed thing, but I do think it enhances the bedroom experience.

I love them for atmosphere. The right lighting can make your skin look so damn great!!! I just bought the cutest little lamp from Pier One that has a striped shade. I now have three lamps in my room and will continue to search for more.

I totally agree with you Mrs. LM...I have a lamp thing, too..a fetish maybe.. and for years would bring home dainty little ones and outrageous antique floor lamps wherever I could find them. I like to put pink light bulbs in them...it casts a gorgeous rosy glow on the skin and is so much more pleasant to wake up to.

I've had a couple of adventures with bedroom lighting, I must say! First house was too close to my mum's so we heavily draped the windows resulting in little light if any..so we were heavily dependent on candles and lamps for atmosphere.

My second house was more of a challenge.
I got to play a little with blaring always sunny South Texas sunlight..lol...

We did up the bedroom and accidentally ended up with a total Moulin Rouge effect. Sir Mike took the antique four poster I dragged over from my last place and sprayed it gold on my command. Then my mum of all people came over and draped it all up in about geezus $700 worth of swathy, almost sheer fabric that fell in pools on the floors of the four corners of that bed... Burgundy and cream.....Beautiful! She's one crazy lady. :-D And as you can imagine there were pillows everywhere...I kind of like to do a mix and match up sort of thing and go with a general colour scheme so it took about four trips to Marshall's and Ross Dress For Less to end up with a really frou-frou pillow collection. All in all we had about eighteen (No sh*t, no kidding! ) in addition to the two that went under our heads!

As for overall colour scheme we did a deep maroon and gold thing (satin duvet with tassels at the foot), French theatre posters and prints in gilded frames on the walls, and an antiqued white silk rose strewn mirror and dressing table. Creamy mustard yellow velvet curtains on the windows, black iron curtain rods and antique bedside lamps with beads and crystal baubles. We draped the two bed side tables with chenile throws...his was a sinful wine colour, mine yellow-gold. A velvet pillow strewn rocker with it's back draped in a sable coloured chenile throw ...I hate to admit to having been totally shameless and having the poor guy replace the ceiling light fixture with a chandelier that dropped down over the center of our bed. We even replaced the chandelier shades with crazy rose coloured bedazzled ones...

I'm still not over that outrageous fabulous bedroom. (sighs) and I must tell you we never got out of it.

The pillows were more often than not thrown on the floor, next to the flokati rug at the foot of the bed and our little dachshund just loved resting his little head on them. Needless to say we sold the house furnished and at full asking price and that bedroom may be largely responsible for that....

Now we're living in a Pacific Northwest beach house style cottage and the "romance" of the bedroom definitely isn't there...and I don't have a clue what to do with it.

they are all great and will take many to heart but except maybe the little fridge...I might prefer cheese and wine to sex if given the choice...
I forgot to add a stereo with a 15 disc CD-changer is a nice touch, too especially when guests are over and an antique rocker. Have any of you tried reverse cowgirl on a rocker?

I'll add a few things here since I'm giviing serious thought to buying a new bed. Actually, I'm thinking of one of those Sleep Number things. I've heard great things about those beds.

For many years, I've decorated my bedrooms around the idea of feeling sexy and special even when all alone. Years back, when I would move or get new things, it would always be for the public rooms while the bedroom contained hand-me-down or flea market junk. It took me time to realize my bedroom needed to be a special place for me. And that reminds me of an Oprah show. They had these pictures of peoples bedrooms and the makeover photos. It was amazing how people have these horrible looking bedrooms but expect to feel sexy in them.

I have quite a bit of soft lighting in my bedroom with the requisite candles, of course. I love beautiful linens. Someone mentioned white down, I believe, and that would be nice, but keeping it clean? Not an easy chore. But soft and soothing colors always for me. And yes...lots of pillows of all shapes and sizes. And music. Must have a CD player. Depending upon the situation, I like some of the New Age music (not Yanni!). Have you ever heard Steven Halpern's Higher Ground. Yummy for a particular mood.

And one other thing that most would not consider as part of decorating a bedroom, but all of my gowns and robes match the color scheme of my bedroom. That is a very important aspect for me. I mean, come on. Would you want to be wearing an orange gown in a purple room?

When my bedroom looks sensual, I'm sensual, and when I'm sensual - well figure that one out.

I bought a new bed about a year ago and if I had it to do over again I'd buy the one I really wanted. I really wanted the Heavenly Bed featured at some of the Westin resort hotels. I've slept on it a few times when I've been lucky enough to stay at a Westin or one of the other hotels that have them. They are just sooooo comfortable.

The one I bought is a nice pillow top and the sadly wasn't much cheaper than the Heavenly Bed (which makes me wish all the more I'd just spent a little more to get what I really wanted). I wanted that instant gratification tho of having it delivered that day.

I would also upgrade to a king size. All I have now is a full size... sometimes not really big enough for two. But I have this bedroom set that I inhereted and that's what fits in it. I love the bedroom set tho.


For playing, I really do think that air mattresses can't be beat. A whole room of them.....
