Default How Do You Protect Your Furniture At A House Party

Hope this is not too silly of a question here, but we're thinking of hosting our first (small) house party. Maybe invite 10 or 12 people in hopes of getting 7 or 8.

We kind of have two concerns.

First has anyone had trouble with things "disappearing"? And

Second, how do you go about keeping your furniture, such as the couch, or mattresses from getting stained from body fluids?

Maybe we're worrying about something we don't need to worry about, but just curious. If 2 or 3 couples are on the bed having sex, there is sure to be some sticky stuff seeping thru the sheets.

TIA

I would suggest making sure that you know the people you are inviting, this will cut down ont he stress of worrying about "things dissapearing". Granted even if you know people you may not "know" them well enough. That said, I would make sure that you have a room that is off-limits and stays locked, in that room put things you may be worried about (be sure to include all medications).

Maybe a plastic sheet under the sheets to protect the bed from bodily fluids? Something like we used to use for our young bedwetters. There was once a slight problem with someone who was a squirter wetting a bed.

Some small paper bags marked with used condoms may help in not finding used condoms thrown under a bed later? It happens.

Leather furniture instead of cloth. Towels readily available if you are worried about furniture stains.

Any valuables should be locked up of course. Who can you actually trust?

Keep the overnight bags in a public area.

In both the main floor living room and main floor family room, we have leather furniture. We have old sheets that we use to cover these, for 2 reasons. Firstly, it keeps things cleaner, but secondly, you stick to the leather when you get all sweaty!

All our valuables go upstairs into our bedroom. But that is done as a matter of course in our house due to the number of damn kids running in and out! We don't invite people to our house until we know them and feel we can trust them.
