Caterer or Bartending Service for a party

Being in Arizona, we are thinking of throwing a party? Does anybody know of a caterering and/or bartending service that can handle the atmosphere? I don't want to put anybody in an awkward position.

Any recommodations?

Just be upfront with them when you call around. Most probably won't have a problem with it and if you tell them up front they will make sure that those they send are those who will be ok with it.

We threw a couple of hotel parties a few years ago and (sad to say) didn't say anything up front the first time. The hotel provided the bar & bartender. The first party was a huge success and our bartender was especially happy since he was a 21 year old who looked just like Ricky Schroeder did when he was that age. So he was getting all kinds of attention.

The second party, he couldn't work it, but he had us covered. We were a little worried, however, when our bartender arrived and it was an older woman in her late 50's/early 60's. Great, we thought, she's going to get us thrown out of here. One of the hosts talked to her before the party started tho and let her know that things might get a little wild. She let us know that the previous bartender had warned us and she had no problem with anythign that might happen. In both cases, they took excellent care of us, and we returned the favor.

You don't have to be explicit about what the event is, just explain that it's a wild group. When you think about it, it's not much different than a bachelor party

Thanks. I have no problem mentioning it but we have some conservative people living over here. I like referrels. Easier to discuss with a company who has worked a party.

I wouldn't worry too much.

Most people in the catering/service business know how to have a good time. Like Julie said: Be upfront with them when you call around.

If you have a "club" nearby or one that you attend, talk to the bartenders there...they may be able to recommend someone....or be available themselves. Obviously they would already know the enviroment....

The only thing you have to worry about with bartenders at the party is having them run off with the guests!

That actually happened to us!

Limo service people often have great connections and don't forget
checking out Craigs List for "college bartenders" under "party services"
lots of those and often easier on the wallet. I'm guessing they've seen
everything.

If you don't see any listed
you can always post an ad with "WANTED" in the headline. Ads are free, btw.

How about asking at a local strip club - ask the bartenders directly or the managers - if they do side jobs! We've had some at a party we went to and it was a lot of fun and the female bartenders were topless for the party.
