Can you give us a web address. We also want a portable one because we are going to move sometime within the next 5 years. ![]() |

At least for parties. You will want one with a deep scupper, if you plan on having a large group in it. What happens, when you get a lot of people in one, they tend to overflow and loose water. Then when everyone gets out, the scupper is sucking air. Every hottub owner we know had a few problems at first, and the after sale service was important. Ask around in your area. Find out who has the better reputation and talk with them. Ask lots of questions. How much does the control panel and replacement heaters cost? Good luck. Mike |

I stopped by the swimming pool store yesterday and picked up a brochure on the Spa which we own. I miswrote the name earlier. It is HotSpring Portable Spas. (This insanity is driving me nuts!) You can log onto www.hotspring.com and probably locate a dealer near you. The company that carries the line here in Tulsa has a website, too. www.fiestapoolsandspas.com. As I wrote earlier, we've had our "Classic" for about 17 years and have had one service call. I've also replaced (myself) the back massage jets, which they call Moto-Massage jets, with an updated version. When you buy yours, they will tell you to buy a new filter every six months. It costs about $80.00. We have the original one that came with the spa. When it gets dirty we rinse it, put it in the dishwasher by itself and run the "light" cycle. It still works great! Picking up this brochure may have been a real mistake. Our "Classic" has been discontinued and replaced with two much improved versions, the Vanguard and Sovereign. They've offered a reasonable trade-in and... If you want to e-mail me your address, I'll send the brochure on to you. Quickly! Before I find my checkbook! Please! Husband of Alura

I'm assuming you're looking to add a hottub to perhaps include swinging partners? If so, it's an excellent way to set the proper atmosphere and get the ball rolling in the right direction. We once swung with a couple who had one in their downstairs family room, and it was wonderful the way incidental underwater contact with the other spouse evolved into torrid foreplay easily and seamlessly. The only drawback was trying to eat her out while keeping her pubic area above water. It ain't easy. Is water erotic? You bet your gonads it is. We've been to swinger functions where the facility had a heated swimming pool, and it's so much easier to mingle and interact while using it than sitting around a bar, everyone waiting for someone else to make a move. Get yer hottub and have fun!!! Dan |

| Here to Stay Join Date: Jun 2001 Posts: 55 Location: Florence SC | Alura We have been looking at Calspring Spas! The Soverign is mouth watering to say the least! We love the white model and the other Soverign model (Elete or limited maybe) in grey/silver is a beauty too. Is it worth the money to get the higher horsepower pumps or will the smaller ones make you feel just as good? |

We have a small 4-5 person spa that has one pump and is not really powerful, but it does the trick! Your best bet is to find a spa retailer that has spas hooked up in a showroom so yo can actually see them in action. We have a place called Recreational Factory Wherehouse here in the area (Florida) that is like that. If you plan to use the spa for muscle therapy and intend for it to loosen you up and make soreness go away, invest in the powerful, multi-jet models. However, if you want it to be a good inhibition loosener/social spa then you may not want all the bells and whistles. Trust me, hot water, a few jets and bubbles, and no swimsuits do wonders for your social contacts! I doubt any of your friends will care if you spent $9,000 on a 50 jet spa, carbon fiber injected molding, with twin hi-power pumps and motors...as long as everyone is very naked and having fun! ![]() |

Our old Classic allows us to use half the jets, which means either the two back-maqssagers or the "Orgasm jet" in full strength. As the switch is turned between the two the power of both diminishes at the middle of the range. If you have a lot of people (more than two) in the tub you'd need the additional power to keep all jets going. I made a mistake when I called our Classic a CalSprings spa. That is not correct. It is a HotSprings spa. The name is not printed on the outside. HotSprings has a patent on the back massage jet. I don't think any other spa has it. I don't know about the "orgasm jet." That may be available on many. We're more interested in the Vanguard, IF we decide to update. It has two back massagers PLUS the new neck massager are a real improvement. I think the two "JetStream" (orgasm) jets would be great, allowing two ladies to warm up at the same time. Ours has only one and must be shared in turn. Although it is true that any old hot tub will do if you have four naked people in it, I would still encourage you not to scrimp if you don't have to. It should be a twenty year investment. | Here to Stay | Hot tubs are great but hard to have sex in, great straters though We have a Sundance Maxxus seats 8, LOL or maybe more, depending on how you stack everybody. Very High maintenence, but worth the great moments you have in them Funny story, we had some very straight friends over one night. Cocktails led to the hot tub, sans clothes. Well the water got to them and after watching them for a few, they became swingers, go figure. Hot tubs are the best starter we know of Kelley and Susan

We had a spa and just bought a new larger tub and this site helped a bunch. And, yes, spas are a great way to get started with new friends and learn if someone is interested in playing. |

Brands I would consider would be Hot Springs and Caldera (both manufactured by Watkins,) Sundance, Dimension 1, Masterspa, Marquis, Jacuzzi Premium. Be sure to wet test before you buy! You can't tell very much about a tub without doing that. Good luck! |

| Swingers Board Addict Join Date: Mar 2005 Posts: 161 Location: Illinois Status: M. Female | We previously had one of the older Jacuzzi spas...it was over 20 years old and provided many years of service but finally died. The newer ones have so many features we were excited about all of them as even though our old one was top of the line when my husband got it, it had no lights and only 8 jets. We just got this one off of ebay and it arrived about a month ago. Can't tell you about things on a long term objective but I can tell you were were EXTREMELY pleased with the service, followup and delivery. We got to chose colors and all our options too. I just can't say enough about this dealer...he was fantastic even afterwards with our questions about hooking it up! http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2005-KEY-WES...QQcmdZViewItem |

| Here to Stay Join Date: Oct 2004 Posts: 41 Location: Newtown, PA Status: Couple w/Bi Curious Female SLS Name:BucksCoCouple | I am now on my third hot tub/spa. I started with a small Hot Springs in 91, it was about 10 years old at the time, upgraded to a larger Hot Springs in 99, then this year picked up the largest Hot Springs one made. I like the two motors and selectable jets, they keep getting better and easier to maintain. The cover lift is well worth it. The new one seats 8 comfortably. It Rocks! Hot Springs is a well made product, great customer support, very well insulated, great jets, not as fancy as some of the glitzy ones, but they work great, quality over glitz, parts for the older ones are no problem. Try that with some of the other ones. Good Luck. As far as an ice breaker, how else would you met ice, lounging closely in 102-104 degree water works like a charm along with the infusion of some alcoholic beverages. It is a great investment and you will enjoy owning a hot tub. Based on most of the other responses, and my own experiences Hot Springs is top rated! |

| Registered User Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 1 Location: Kemptville Status: M.Male | I do agree that the hot tub is a great ice breaker and being so cold here in Kemptville Canada it really is a ice breaker. I have found after service support is the utmost item to consider. Most places after the sale is complete are nowhere to be found for service. I personally bought and have been extremly satisfied with a tub purchased from Sunrise spas http://www.sunrisespas.com/ the dealer was Chinook Spas in Ottawa I did alot of research before buying and found alot of info on the net. Be sure to wet test before you buy any reputable dealer will allow this. Cheers Ray |

| Here to Stay | As you may know, we are in the business of spa service, amonst other things, and have written a whole page dealing with water chemistry. It doesn't matter what spa you have, if you don't deal with the water right, your life can become itchy, smelly, or worse. Here's the link, print it, share it, it's why we did it. Water Talk |

| Swingers Board Addict Join Date: Jun 2002 Posts: 202 Location: Christiansburg, VA Status: Single Male | Count me in for recommending Hot Springs. We've had one for about 5 years and love it. When we were looking we asked a lot of questions. One question I asked was who made the best ones, and how do you compare to the competition. Everyone in our area said that they were as good as Hot Springs. Funny thing was that all the other brands never mentioned any others. In other words, Hot Springs was the bench mark. |
