House party with no house?

We have run into a strange situation. We, in conjunction with another playmate, want to start hosting house parties....the problem? No house. Our friend lives in a one bedroom apartment, and while we live in a nice sized home, we also live within 15 minutes of all of our family...and most of them have the bad habit of just dropping by and coming in the house without knocking. Besides that, I just can't abide the idea of other people having sex in our kids beds.

I am just wondering if there is some other way to still host parties? We had thought of renting several hotel suites, but that takes away from the general "flow" of a house party. We had also thought of renting a lake or mountain cabin for a night or two. Both are not exactly cheap, but we are out of ideas.

Any suggestions?

Your lake or mountain cabin idea is about the best you are going to come up with. Expense can be minimized by making a core of "hosts" and dividing the cost.

I'd suggest renting a cabin that is somewhat secluded with woods between each cabin. Don't know how common that is in Georgia, but they are fairly easy to find here in Michigan. Rather inexpensive, too.

We hosted a party last January and rented out two connecting suites at a Hilton Hotel. The larger suite had a very large living area, with a huge dining room table and everyone brought different food - we had enough food for 50 people and only had four couples. We also each shared the cost of the suites with came to $75 per couple. Most of the couples spent the whole night at the hotel (we had plenty of beds between both suites), and nobody left hungry.
We would like to do it again, but finding a weekend when all your favorite couples can all be available is the toughest part of hosting this kind of party. Good Luck!

In the last few months we started hosting parties in our house and have recently decided to allow others looking to host a private party to use our house for their party and we call them "Hush Slumber Parties." Just an idea...

My playmate and I host at hotels all the time. We find that people are more comfortable meeting in a nuetral area but we are just not comfortable hosting at our homes.
