Now to the question at hand. I think it has to do with the fact that most women who are looking (single or otherwise) are more interested in other women. At least they are in my area of the country. Most men are looking for women also. These dynamics make it easier for a woman than a man to experience a gang bang/orgy situation. Though as Julie said, with established groups you would likely find no lack of participants.
