You've had 42 votes which, especially for this topic, is quite a lot in the short time it has been posted. "Numbers" are a touchy subject for some. But I think the fact that you see so many votes in the "lower" numbers is a pretty good indication that people are being honest.
Also keep in mind while there may be 1000 active members, not all read every thread, answer every thread
(You are a good example actually. Out of 29 posts, 27 are to threads that you started) or even really participate in swinging. There are a lot of lurkers, curious people, etc.
I hope more people answer the poll for you, but as of now, you are doing better than you think.
