There is maybe 100 or more threads asking the same questions as you have here.
You can get some good insight if you take a look at those threads from over the years.
When it comes to protection, that is going to be up to the people involved at the time.
Some here will tell you the truth, some won't. Some won't bother answering you at all since they don't plan on being with you or want to answer a question that has been answered 100's of times already.
You have to make your own choices in life that work for you. What any of the rest of us does makes no matter at all.
