I had a vasectomy many years ago. My decision to have this surgical procedure did not relate to swinging lifestyle considerations. I use condoms with all women except the ones who have become especially familiar. To the ears of a woman with whom I am having a first-time intimacy, saying "I have had a vasectomy" might sound just like "Your check is in the mail." A condom also provides a barrier to bacterial and viral infection.
