I am meeting more and more couples in their early 20's these days so I don't think that meeting couples your own age will be the problem it once was.
The biggest hesitation that people have in dealing with young swingers is do they have the maturity to deal with the various issues that come up.
I think that you are on the right track... checking things out before you jump in.
You need to consider what the rules for the swing clubs in your state regarding age of admittance?
As for the watching being watched, lots of couples start out that way and it can be a lot of fun. and no I can't imagine asking regular friends... well I can imagine it... but I can't imagine continuing to be friends after .
