Congrats from us as well. Sounds like all the stars aligned properly to make the first experience a wonderful one. Our first time was very nice too.
Though it doesn't sound like communication is a problem between you two...I would urge anyone who is making the step to involve others (and might be reading this post) to really talk to their spouse (or S.O.) before, during AND AFTER. To our way of thinking, this is vital to making sure that all concerned are comfortable.
Also, though your playtime was "just" soft swing...many folks are happy with that type of recreation and there is not a dog-gone thing wrong with it.
