Re: Is it common or appropriate to use an alias when contacting a club?
Why use an alias? Use your first or a nickname. Don't give out your last name. If you are THAT recognisable, and TRULY have to be "that" discreet, this isn't for you.
Over the years, we met judges, city officials, teachers, priciples, a couple actors, and a few sports figures,,,, even to the point we got autographs, lol.
Funny thing is, MANY people feel the same as you. We even met a sanitation worker for the city that was saying the same as you "everyone knows me, if I get seen here, I'll lose my, blah, blah, blah". I kept laughing inside thinking "dude, you are the garbage man, not the govenor".
Funny story, also shows that I'm not BSing about higher ups. Anyway, I'm sure everyone remembers the y2k paranoias. A friend of ours, high up in the city, joined us at a swingers club for the evening. As he walks up to the table with a duffle bag. He opens it up and pulls out 20-30 different cell phones and beepers (I kid you not). He was in charge of one of the city's computer infrastructures and had to be availiable and within 30 minutes of downtown in case the worst happenned. Well, midnight came, no collapse of the free world, lol. Then 5 minutes later, the building goes BLACK, no lights, no music, parking lot lights,,,,nada. He was FREAKING. No phones were ringing either. As it turns out, a drunk driver took out a utility bock a block away, but even to this day, we still laugh about it.
