Re: How do you start things at a house party?
Every party is different, as is the vibe. There have been times we’ve all sat around and socialized for three to four hours before anything happened, and other times when everyone was naked and playing within an hour. If we have new couples attending, we tend to take things a bit slower than we do if everyone is a party veteran. That gives the new people time to get to know everyone, and also gives them time to relax and get into it.
I do like the idea of “the party starts at 8, clothes come off at 10.” Problem is we know that one couple in particular won’t be able to make it to the party until after 10. Then again, that would give them one heck of a greeting when they do knock at the door…
A hot tub is a guaranteed icebreaker. We don’t have one at this house, but in the past I’ve had no problem being the first one naked and in it. (We always had a ‘no clothes in the hot tub’ rule.)
