Well, it's one of the rules here. Just like we have a no genital rule for pics, and no excessive signatures, etc.
I too am a member of other forums, and all of the ones I'm most active on do not allow such links, advertising or pictures (embedded or otherwise). You must be lucky if all of your other forums allow the links.
