When I was younger I had a few instances to meet playmates in non-swinging ways...

1. A couple we became good friends with for several years we met through the amateur site I used to run (which I guess could be borderline swinging means). Actually there were 2 couples we met because of that site... one couple were members of the site and came to one of our amateur girl M&Gs and then became good friends with us. The other was another couple that also had an amateur site... also met them at an amateur girl M&G.

2. When I was taking college classes I met a guy and we hit it off. One thing led to another and he found out I was bi. The next day I was having a threesome with him and his girlfriend.
