In the group we belonged to we used several phrases that meant ordinary things to the outsiders but clearly identified us as members. We also had a unique pendant that was hard to miss. We met lots of people especially while traveling. From time to time a phrase would get outed so we'd substitute another. Once while visiting in Tazmania another tourist on a tour bus asked us if we knew whether dandelions were edible or not. We responded that they must be, they're greens, aren't they. Bingo! That made our trip a lot more interesting. That was one intro phrase that never got outed.
It was up to us individually to use a phrase or not, to wear our pendant or not as we felt at the time and with whom we felt there might be a connection. The other person was free to respond or not to respond so it was a win-win way of making contact.
Maybe today's swingers ought to consider some harmless contact methods. You might be surprised who responds.
