Good choice. Everyone has their preferences, but for us, the club route was a great way to ease into things. Go with no expectations other than to have a fun evening together, and everything will turn out great.

Don't sweat the small stuff, but it never hurts to plan ahead. Do a little 'net research which it sounds like you have already done and maybe call the club to ask any questions before you get there. If you've got the details figured out, that will be less to worry about when you walk through the door for the first time. You'll probably have plenty to occupy your mind
so if everything is taken care of beforehand, you won't have to be devoting energy to anything other than having a good time.
