I agree with Kitty. I'll bet good money he slips her something in her drink.
It's when he said "she always passes out from drinking" that sent up the red flags. He sounded so confident that she would be out of it and bragged how he had done it many times before. How does someone ALWAYS pass out?
Sounds like he has this thing orchestrated a little too well.
