It is true that having the right people as members is very important. I think an outgoing and friendly couple has a better chance of getting other couples to join.
If a single guy is running a club, he may have friendly women employees to act as emcee or he may do this himself. There is a real need, I feel, to have someone, male or female, who will get guests into games and in breaking the ice. I know a local club that takes their money and tells them to have a good time. They have never grown very big, but still they remain in business which is surprising. I also think good music is important to set the mood, but there are clubs who don't provide much quality music at all. |
