Because I've read all the other threads that are of interest to me and in looking for something new to read, I open the ones that aren't....and, sometimes the title of the thread has little to do with the topic so, I'm pleasantly surprised at times.

If it's not of interest I usually only read the OP and then close it out and rarely ever go back to that thread. If it's something I know nothing about, my opinion on it is of no use and unless I'm wanting to ask a question, for curiosities sake, there's no reason for me to post on it.

Nope, sometimes I do learn things from threads that I'm not interest in...so having them on ignore would prevent me from possibly learning something new.
