Default The Splash Party

Several folks have asked how the Splash Party was. Actually both Pet and I have posted some about it in our blogs.

Just to give you a bit more info on what to expect if you decide to attend one, here's how the whole event worked....

The Splash Party is a COMPLETE hotel take-over from Thursday at noon through Sunday at Noon. Once the "balls hit the water" (beach balls that is dropped in my Dixie herself) the hotel is OURS and clothes are optional in the pool area. Because parts of the parking lot are visible to outside areas you do have to be clothed when going to your room or to the theme party rooms.

During the day on Thurs, Fri & Saturday the pool is full of semi naked to naked people. It is clothing optional and some choose to stay clothed while others ... well you get the idea.

We actually arrived early which I decided was a good thing as it gave us a chance to meet some people early (Wednesday Night) as well as be at the pool on Thursday when it wasn't as busy. Since a lot of people didn't come in until Thursday afternoon or even Friday. The pool was fairly quiet on Thursday (in comparison to Fri & Sat that is). They had a DJ at the pool and a body painter all 3 days as well as a live musician for a bit each afternoon.

Continental Breakfast and Lunch were provided Thurs - Sat at the hotel. So really other than dinner you had no need or reason to leave the hotel unless you just wanted to.

Friday afternoon by the pool they had a hypnotist and Saturday they had some fun couples games out at the pool.

Each night there was a theme dance with good turn out. The dance went from 9pm-1am with the (matching) theme party rooms opening up at 11pm each night. The folks in charge of the theme rooms did a great job with each one and there really was something for everyone.

They had security on hand to ensure that only those who should be there even entered the hotel grounds, which was a good thing. All in all Dixie ran a great party and we are looking forward to going back.

Also, as a follow-up to the weekend, taking what I learned I wrote an article for the Info & Advice section of the site on Making the Most of Your Hotel Take-Over
