Mr. Sweet tried doing something like that (blocks of styrofoam wrapped in electrical tape), but our headboard has a cutout with wrought-iron scrollwork, and I could see it. Drove me bananas. So we really need a more permanent solution.
But as I suspect Mr. Sweet likes the noise, I may give your suggestion a try . . .
