Default Re: House Parties

I agree with the previous postings on this thread.

From my limited experience with house parties (four, so far) here are some questions you might ask the host/hostess to make yourselves more comfy with the situation (or even make you decline the invite):
- Clothing: Is this formal, informal, or casual? What does that mean? Tuxes? Cocktail dresses? Gowns? Suits? Shorts? T-shirts? Jeans? Lingerie? Swimwear? Thongs? Nudity? Do most people arrive dressed and shed clothes? What usually happens?
- Exposure: Are there just group areas? Are there private (closed door) areas where couples or small groups can play away from everyone else? Or is everything potentially out in the open? Are there off-limits areas (like kid's rooms) in the house? If we can play outside, what are the boundaries to prevent the neighbors from seeing?
- Pool? Hot tub? Sauna? What are the rules for sex in these areas, for clean-up, or other things?
- Should we bring our own towels? Robes? Toiletries?
- Can people stay overnight? What are the accommodations if we decide to stay beforehand or at the last minute?
- Should I bring snacks or other food? What kind? (I live in an area where it would be a total faux pas not to bring something [bottle of wine, beer, jello shots, casserole, big bag o' chips, etc.] for a house party. If you were going to a "vanilla" party in your area, what would you normally bring? That type of food would usually be acceptable at swing parties, too.)
- Will toys or other group-available or -restricted items be welcomed?
- If Thrax said he would show up, would that influence your decision about attending?

Those are some things you should consider when attending a house party. But really, if Thrax would show up, wouldn't that just make the party, and make everyone feel comfortable?

P.S. Those jr. high dreams of inclusion just never, never go away.
P.P.S. Although I'm VERY happy to say things are much better now.
