You really need to talk to the people that are hosting the house party.

You will find that it can be a lot of different things.

We have seen house parties that are no more then nice meet and greets all the way to house parties that when you walk in the door you strip down and party.

Without knowing the hosts and what type of parties they host there is no real way for anyone here to tell you what to expect.

Check with who invited you if it was not the host and find out if they have been to these parties before. They should be able to give you an idea what they are like. If it was not the hosts I would also get contact information on who the hosts are and talk to them.
