A more effective tactic, Ready2xplod, might be to bring Karen flowers and a corsage before dinner. When she asks, "Why?" tell her you love her. The waitress will surely notice the flowers she's wearing and start a conversation. This would also let the waitress know that you're a special guy. That'd be good, wouldn't it?
