Bud's had facial hair since the age of 14.
Only shaved it off a few times since and everyone (friends, work colleagues, family and even the kids always suggest I grow it back).
Reminds me of an interview with a very famous person in the music industry who has pretty much always sported a beard. He said "I glanced at myself as I walked past a mirror one day and thought 'my god you're ugly. You haven't got a chin!' Since then, I've always worn a beard and I ain't ugly anymore." I won't reveal his identity as he and me are dopplegangers (I've often been stared at and even been requested for my/his autograph throughout my life - he was also the subject of an article in the New York Post on one occasion, except it wasn't he they were writing about....it was me, lol). My resemblance to this guy is so uncanny that I have to wonder if his dad had a bike, as he was born not a million miles away and my mum was "a bit of a girl" in her early years, lol. Too risky to broadcast who he is as it would deffinately "out" me to anyone who knows me that might stumble across the board. PM us if you're interested and I MIGHT fill you in (in a manner of speaking)
Some guys suit a beard and some don't. Some guys can be either/or to no effect cuz they'll be equally attractive or otherwise, regardless.
The only good part about shaving it off used to be the "here's a guy who cares enough about his appearance enough to be able to appear not to care at all" look that was so eloquently and perfectly described by George Michael when he told an interviewer that it was his "Designer Stubble". Thankfully, we now have beard trimmers instead of having to spend an age in front of the mirror with a comb and scissors.
We're all different. Bud NEEDS a beard which is why we are always so sad when we read a profile that states NO BEARDS.
