Why would someone want to put holes in their ears? Same reason why people get other parts of their bodies pierced. Besides, for a hood piercing, depending on which way it is in, it has a sensory benefit for the wearer. And, in certain positions, a freneum piercing rubs against the woman. And yes, Spoo is right....a hood piercing kinda points out the way to the clit and that's never a bad thing
