Thrax, you seem to have an insightful angle on most every subject. You are absolutely correct about smiles. People say I am smiling all of the time, but the truth is that the relaxed position of my mouth reveals my teeth (which are white and straight, fortunately). Some people, even people with perfect teeth, look (and probably "feel") awkward when they reveal teeth.
