Personally, I think there would be far less divorce and tension filled relationships in this world if people understood respect and put way more emphasis on that than they do the simplistic idea of love. It's easy to love, far more difficult to truly respect someone. And I believe when you truly respect someone that you love, the love is so much better and only grows. Love has its peaks and valleys and too many people are ready to give up on their relationships just because their love hits a low point at times. People should try to understand that love evolves and it's not going to be the giddy, high school, puppy dog stuff that it starts out as. But as long as respect for one another is maintained, couples can go through the cycles that love evolves through and survive.
I'm very impressed, and was appreciative that you took the time to respond to my question (several posts earlier) as you did. There's something to learn from most posts, especially those answered from the heart. Shortcomings and past mistakes are not something ever easy to admit to or explain, and I respect your thoughts a great deal.

As for your thoughts on respect, one of my very best friends told me that he & his wife made a New Year's pledge one time to treat each other as well as they each treated their family dog, which although it sounds amusing, was actually very profound since they were pet lovers.

Anyhow, thanks for the response. You guys sound like a lot of fun.
