I was dredging through some of the sludge posted by 'moral activists' on another board and was understandably skeptical when she insinuated that we were lumped in with such sicknesses as pedophilia, necrophilia, and MANY other disorders under the family of "paraphilia". And anything that falls under the term of paraphilia is considered a disorder.
So I googled it. Never let it be said that I am not willing to be proven wrong.
And I was. There it was, plain as day! Troilism.

Now granted, I think the operational defenition of a 'disorder' is that it causes a person to be less healthy. Masturbation and homosexuality were once on that list of deviations, but were removed after much study found them to be within the spectrum of sexual normalcy. Troilism is listed (
click here) as a rare form of paraphilia.
Say WHAT??
Rare. As in, very very few people. Ok, so maybe there aren't THAT many people that actually engage in troilism, but you can bet your bunny slippers that just about every red-blooded North American heterosexual male has at least fantasized ONCE about having a FMF.
So what does this tell me? It tells me we need more research in this area. Frustrating.
