JnG hasn't quite let us get to know them yet.
Default A matter of practicality: beds!

Figured someone here might have some thoughts...

My wife and I have met couples whose company we enjoy, but we're still pretty new to things overall. One of the things we'd like to do is invite them over, but there's a little matter of practicality that has come up.

Simply put, we live in a fairly small house and have limited space. It's a 3 bedroom place, but one of the rooms is taken up by an office. Another is the master bedroom (which isn't off-limits for play), but given the logistics of our floor plan and its size (queen) it just isn't situated for 4 people.

That leaves the 3rd room. Right now, we have a fold-out futon bed/couch, but it's small and extremely uncomfortable, and I'm honestly not so sure that under rigorous use it wouldn't collapse.

I'm of the firm mind that if we're going to have people over, we would want to make them as comfortable as possible. This brings up a couple of issues:

1. There are two rooms, so theoretically that should solve the 'not enough room' issue. However, some couples don't like to be separated (not an issue with us given that the rooms are about 4 feet apart and - with doors open - you can see from one into the other, but I respect that it's an issue for some couples). Really, our place is small enough that I'd hardly call it "swinging separately", but...

2. Our main bed is fine, but the futon sucks. We're limited on space - it's a small room - but we'll probably need to find another bed. Anyone have suggestions? Perhaps just a higher quality futon?

Maybe we should eschew the idea of beds. We have a perfectly good couch, stairs, floor...

Anyone have similar problems, and if so, how have you handled them?
