Hi tracy,

I wouldn't be shy about speaking up to the doc about it. They're supposed to be professionals offering a service...namely to keep you healthy and answer your health-related questions. If he has an opinion - and is professional - he'll keep it to himself. Otherwise, you could actually call him on his un-professional attitude.

If you're not the confrontational type, though, you could mention to the doc that you and your hubby had a 'special' weekend planned together, and that sex was definitely going to be a part of it. Does this medication cause any changes in body secretions that might be considered...um...unpleasant? Particularly taste? (What?! It's the 21st century ya know...) Worst case scenario, everyone blushes for about 10 seconds and then he clears his throat and rhymes off the answer from his med-school textbook. No biggie.

If I were you, I'd go ahead and start the meds. If it were me, I'd rather go without oral sex and be healthy than feel like crap because my sinus infection started to get out of control. The meds take at least 24 hours to start kicking in, so get it under control sooner rather than later.
