I have checked in with the board every day (when I'm home) since joining early this year. There are days I may spend only an hour online, other times eight hours seem to zoom by!
Mr LM has concerns about me, and I think they are justified. I wonder about myself...
am I spending too much time on the board?
Those couples who share in posting may not have this concern. But how about those of you who are the predominant--if not only, like me--spouse who posts or reads the board. Do you wonder if you're giving too much time to the board and not enough to your spouse?
Does your spouse worry about you sitting in front of the "peach and mauve" monitor for hours in a far away gaze?
You laugh now and then; you busily type away with a serious look on your face; the "you've got mail" voice calls out when someone has posted to one of your threads...then you feel exicted every time another click is heard and the numbers rise as the activity grows on the board!
While you're seated in front of the monitor does your spouse ask you a question, you answer it, later forgetting the whole conversation because you were more into what you were reading on the board than what he/she was saying to you?
I have found ways to better handle my attachment to the board
and give deserved attention to Mr LM. But it can be challenging.
Anyone else have this challenge? How are you handling your love for the board and your spouse at the same time?
