Age and body piercings

Recommended Posts

So I've lost a bunch of weight and I'm all excited about that. My body isn't quite as I remember it: gravity has not been my friend these past 10 years. And although my belly has flattened out...well...let's just say it won't be mistaken for a 20 year old's body. Here's my question: I have a stack of body jewelry from back in the day before my belly button piercing healed over. I loved wearing it. I'm just trying to decide if I should get my piercing redone. But I'm 40. What is your take on body jewelry and piercings on older women? Yes? No? Should we have outgrown that by now? Does it look a like we're trying too hard?

My position is if you like it, then doesn't matter if you are 20 or 80, do what makes you happy and if someone else has a problem with it, then too damn bad :)

I know. This question is kind of up there with "How old is too old to wear ___________?" I've supposedly exceeded the maximum age for wearing short skirts, but fuck it. I do it anyway because I have nice legs. I am not, however, drawn to animal prints, glitter or neon. Why? Because I'm too damn old to try to mimic a 20-something. Trying to look 20-something is just silly, and a step in the wrong direction when I'm definitely happier as a 40 year old. So we aim for a more mature, classy look. Short skirts can be classy. I'm just not sure about body jewelry. I guess I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks about it. I'm leaning towards it, but then again, I've never been afraid of being different.

Do you think it looks good on yourself? Just do it. I'm not a fan of piercings but boy it can look so good occasionally. Especially on >30 year olds as it says loud and clear you have not dozed off in kids-and-mortage-land.

Intuition: I finally decided to log on to your SLS account...first of all, take that stuff about working on weight loss OUT! Your photos (just the three) show a smoking hot woman that already has a great body (don't know if they are before or after pictures, but while they don't show much, they get an interest out of me). As for piercings, I love them. You are as 'old' as you feel and act, but you DO NOT look old at all. I say go for it...and just to make sure, send me the pictures (grrrrr).

I hate to put a age limit on body jewelry or clothing in general. Some 40 yr old have a youthful look physically and they dress that way, while some have a more mature look. It all depends on personality and how you feel. I have seen plenty of over 40 women wear body piercings and I think they look great. You don't have to have a 20 year old body to wear body piercings.

I guess my opinion if I had to say yes or no, would be no. I tend to not like body piercings but can say that I have seen some ladies where it looked really hot. My overall issue probably would be a 40 year old trying to look 20. Now a sexy confident 40 year old with a body piercing could still be hot.

Overall,I think the look has to be classy... Not cheap. Therefore it doesn't depend on age... but how it looks.

Now these are just what I like... I think you need to do what you like and what your SO likes. You are the ones who really matter.

As far short dresses/skirts go... If you have the legs and body to wear them... Go for it. It just needs to be a classy look... Not like a teenage wannabe.

On the right set of breasts, I love the way nipple piercings look. However, I'm curious if they kind of get in the way when it comes to play. Do they feel less pleasing for the person sucking them or whatever?

That's kind of a hard one to answer, less pleasing isn't how I would describe it. It's more that I'm being extra careful around any piercings anywhere on the body, and that makes me hold back a bit from what I normally would do. Even proceeding with caution, I'll still ask "is that ok?" and have always gotten the answer "absolutely, don't worry about it. Don't hold back, I'll let you know if there's a problem"....but I still hold back some since I don't want to find out that I had made something hurt or be uncomfortable when it's too late to undo that.

I have quite a few piercings and plan on getting quite a few more. I don't wear them all in my everyday life but I do put them in (in various combos) when we go out to events. I also wear hot pants, big hair, colored extensions, slutty shoes and whatever else I like! It's part of my personality. If you like the way it looks then go for it! You are never too old to do anything that makes you smile! :)

You are as old as you feel. Anyone who has a question about this, send the pictures to we and we will let you know our opinion.

Intuition: Your pictures seem to have gotten lost in the mail :(

I think it's one of those things like bow ties on a guy. Some guys can pull them off and look quite dapper wearing a bow tie. Other guys (like me), put one on and the reception is along the lines of "Hey, it's fat Bill Nye!".

In the end though, I think, fuck it, go for it if you want to sport some body bling. It's probably the attitude that makes it work, and I'm guessing you have that attitude. :)

So, have you made a decision yet?

No. Not yet. I think maybe I should work on my core a little more before drawing attention to it with bling. And maybe give my skin a chance to bounce back a bit, too.
