Shapewear - do you wear it out to swinging events?

Recommended Posts

Growing up in the south (I always wanted a reason to use that phrase!), my mom always taught me that ladies wear girdles no matter what size they were. It was to make everything smooth, even on thin girls. Of course I thought it was old fashioned and unnecessary, as I'm sure most people did. Until... shapewear! Spanx coins it "something that doesn't exist".... sigh.

Anyway, I'm rambling. I like to wear shapewear. Yes, it makes everything smooth and tucks everything away to make me look all hourglassy. They are even making some now where your pants don't fall off when you are wearing them. Only problem is they take forever to get on and off. So it's hard to wear them to swingy stuff when I know I will be taking my clothes off.

I want to look my best (shapewear) but I want to be easy access (no shapewear). Do you wear it? For vanilla events or while swinging? Any tips/tricks you have picked up along the way? Or should I just bag the whole mess?

Growing up in the north with an old fashioned southern grandmother I was taught the same thing! I always wear it when going out vanilla or LS! BUT when we go to swing events I solve the problem by going to change into something sassy and easy to get off before it becomes the problem you mentioned! That way smooth clean lines and hour glass figure while you are socializing and then flowy sexy comfortable nighty when you are ready to play! :D

I know this is a really stupid question but I'm a guy and don't really get it. What if you cut out the fun parts? You could be all hourglassy and accessible too.

Well oddly enough... All the fun parts ARE cut out of some of them lol. Some scoop under the boobs so cleavage can show. And a lot of the bottoms have holes so you don't have to pull them down to potty.

I've never tried any shapewear because it seems like an odd thing to do here when it gets so hot...you don't want something so tight on your body (and an extra layer) around here!

I guess I sorta feel like it's false advertising. I don't want to get all packed into the shapewear and trick someone into thinking they are getting something other than what they will see with my clothes off. I am not a small girl and while shapewear has a place (business dinners, weddings) I wouldn't wear it to the club.

As an aside, I love Spanx's tagline - "We've got your butt covered!" LMAO

The only shapewear I wear are push-up bras. I wouldn't want people to be turned off when my tummy or butt come flying out out of a girdle, if they are expecting a tightly packed model body. I just try to choose lingerie or club wear that is flattering.

I don't even wear spanx in daily life because they seem so uncomfortable.

I think I remember a post/thread where a male was saying that a playmate had an hourglass figure with big breasts out on the dance floor when they danced but once they went to the bedroom and she took off her girdle, he was upset that the hourglass figure and big breasts weren't the real thing.... Ever since I read that, I have to agree that I'd hate to have someone pull the wool over my eyes so I try not to do that to other people even if it means that my small breasts aren't much to offer.

We need to see pictures with and without to see if its false advertising :)

I find this false advertising idea quite odd and interesting. Yes, shapewear holds everything in and smooths out your figure. But the key words there are "your figure". Wearing shapewear isn't gonna turn Adele into Kim Kardashian (thank goodness).

I'm wondering if makeup doesn't fit under the same idea...? My makeup hardly looks the same between the time I get to the club and after a good romp. So is that false advertising?

Either way, I understand where you are coming from. It reminds me of that episode of Queer as Folk when Michael brings home the dude with the fake butt and penis. Hahaha

Sun- yeah the louisiana heat doesn't love shapewear either. I try not to wear it of I know I'm going to be outside walking around or whatever. Although, I have a couple tank tops that have some shapeweariness to them so I don't have to wear anything over them.

We recently played with a girl that had shapewear on. It was like trying to cut into those plastic containers that never cut right with the scissors. Layers and layers? Too much in my opinion....got to everything we could but really, it's not that attractive when it's rolled up and down and ends up on the waist! Take it off....

I don't think its false either. It's smoothing! I am a plus size girl, I am just a smooth plus size girl! I wear corsets when we go out to non playing events. Do I think people expect my figure to look like that without the corset? Of course not!

This has come up from time to time.

Here's two that jump to mind:

False Advertising

Profiles with false advertising

I have always been of the opinion that our mothers put us in girdles and then panty hose as a means of making it very difficult for the boys to get in or for us to get out of them. It made no sense for us to go from the girdles to garters and then to panty hose rather than garter belts that would have utilized the same nylons that we had been wearing with the girdles. In all other decisions, moms were frugal. Here, we got all new hose. I look at the young girls today running around in their tiny thong underwear and no nylons or panty hose and think, "Oh, my God, would that have made things easy."

Being a guy I won't mind for a lady to wear a Shapeware in a vanilla setting, but in a swinging setting is really...well I hate being aroused by a lady and find out after having her naked all her fat burst out :sad:
